Thank God, Bob wasn’t on the 12 -12-12 Concert last night !BTW for anyone interested in assisting the victims of Hurricane Sandy, the Robin Hood Foundation is still accepting donations – 100% of which go directly to assist the affected people.
Half Pint, please consider getting better. Picture it in your mind. Imagine yourself moving freely, arms akimbo, with a swiift pace….no headache, neck moving freely…feels good huh?….and thats how it is, now and later….you are free to move about the country…and planet as well…
First let me say Eric Burdon and the Animals, House of New Orleans…I wont post links as I am stricktly talking here….That was the song that drew me in. I went to a movie in Morton Texas that had the Rolling Stones and Eric Burdon and the Animals and the Henerie the 8th guys whose name I cant remember right this second…oh yeah, Hermans Hermits…but Eric Burdons voice drew me in, set me in line for Jim Morrison…man, we had such freaking awesome music!
@Gweedo MurrayGweedo Murray said, about 19 hours agoYou’re welcome, Sweetness ! I talked with Ken at length last night. It was good ! He said he had 33 working days left ‘til retirement. He will take some time off before looking for a less stressful job. Didn’t do anything on the wall or window yesterday though I have the new stuff painted and ready. The furnace room is in the walkout basement as it would normally be, down below, in a normal living situation. I am adding additional sound proof tiling to the walls which makes for a nice quiet when the furnace runs. When I first got here it was like a large train rumbling through the living room to where you had to turn your music up too loud in order to hear it. .The next door neighbor has a mercury vapor yard light on a pole that is obnoxiously bright and has been a mild irritation to Joe and I. The old boy, Jim, died a few years back and the wife, Marge, has recently gone to some kind of old age home. The house sits empty, for the time being. Joe and I confabbed yesterday and decided to take matters into our own hands. We took the extension ladder over to the garage, where the light is mounted on a pole on the roof and put on a homemade diverter cone with some Gorilla brand tape. Last night was nice and dark outside…. for a change. Don’t know how long it will last when family comes around to do whatever at the place, but it’s good for now. .Ginger is after all, a homegrown (to you) talent.
Best of Luck to Ken for getting a less stressful job and I hope he enjoys his retirement.
Glad you managed to get everything prepared. The sound proof tiling ‘sounds’ pretty interesting. So does the furnace room.
I wouldn’t like to face that bright yard light myself. I hope it doesn’t bother you now that you have moved it.
Do you still play your CDs while driving? Which ones do you have?
Sorry to hear about Jim by the way.
Again, your comment was an interesting and fun read.
Pet … two people/groups come to mind instantly….Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Charlie Daniels…(I can hear the Devil went down to Georgia in my head even as I type this)…and man, Skynryd could play anything and have us all hanging on it…and ZZ Top is another group that had a lot of country soul to them (they played at our high school prom and I was hooked)…speaking of hook…Dr Hook had a country soul based sound as well…maybe I am remembering wrong, but I do remember hearing them on country and rock stations in Texas…
I didn’t recall Mary as being such a flirt…. I take it Jackie told the Police that she conveniently “Left to visit relatives in the USA”; taking a page from Dr. Crippen! (Hint to Scotland Yard Detective squad: Look in Jackie’s {wine} cellar)

Since two negatives make a positive, do bad acoustics plus bad guitar playing equal a good sound?
Godfreydaniel almost 12 years ago
@SandfanOr as Oscar Wilde once said, “A terrible play saved by a terrible performance.”

And there she is, Jack’s (former? ex? dead?) Wife, Mary

I’m sure Joe misses him… Were they good friends?
I’m glad that the bright light isn’t bothering you anymore. That was pretty cool what you did to prevent it from shining on your part.
I dance to my CDs sometimes.
Thank you for your reply. I hope your day goes well too.
I hope you have a great weekend.
