A lot of altruism has a hidden motive.

Andy was in the army? I can’t imagine what type of a soldier he would have been.

Fallen in the canal without even having had a drink? Strange as it sounds, the money may be safer, at least for now, with Andy.

Drinking money should not be watered down in a canal!

They really need to put a barrier of some kind around the canal.

If Hartlepool started charging these soppy bar towels for rescue services … there’d be yet another huge budget deficit for the city.

Why else would Andy goin after him!?

My day was fine. I haven’t been out at all this week but next week I’m at the hairdressers and the carvery. Still, there’s tomorrow to go yet. I could still go out then.

You’d think that after all these years of people falling in the canal (mostly Andy) that there’d be a fence around the bloody thing…

When they resumed registration with Selective Service I was among the first group required to register. But I had already accepted an Army ROTC scholarship, thereby incurring an active duty obligation after finishing college.

Posting late today: Andy must be kin to Beetle Bailey and Chalkie must be related to Private Snafu and possibly Beetle’s fellow soldier Zero. Flo would be Sgt. Lugg.

In Andy’s case, it’s usually “leave no beer behind.”

Andy wouldn’t react like this. His friend Charlie would be the one to say, andy Eric’s spilled into the canal. Andy would say, e’ll be fine. But andy, he’s carrying the snooker winnings. Then andy would be seen in a perfect dive in the air going into the water. Andy is never flustered, unless its Flo doing the flustering. Reg was a genius in that way.
