I have just been catching up on the comments on yesterday’s strip. I see that the last comment was “Sentence first, verdict afterwards – the Queen of Hearts”. That reminded me of the Red Queen in the sequel Alice Through The Looking Glass. The Red Queen explains to Alice about backward living by saying that the King’s Messenger is in prison serving a sentence but the trial that will then pass the sentence is yet to be held and only after the trial will he commit the crime. Alice asks, “But what if he doesn’t commit the crime.” The Red Queen says, “Then so much the better.”
