I enjoyed my day trip to Llandudno with some friends yesterday. I had a pint of cider and I spent over a pound in the amusement arcade. Andy Capp would be shocked at such moderation in drinking and gambling. He would have been even more shocked that one of my friends had a non-alcoholic drink in the pub.
On a vacation to Cancun there was a group of young British guys staying at the same hotel/resort as we were. Apparently they were not able to handle their liquor very well, their behavior attracted hotel security’s attention & eventually got them kicked out.
In one particular instance one of them had stripped down naked & was chasing a couple of the others, I won’t say what else he was attempting to do. One of the others had his phone out taking a vid of the whole thing & I thought So tell me, dear boy. Given any thought to how you will explain that away to an employer or future father-in-law after that vid goes viral have you?
Some places will let you make reservations when certain conventions are, or are not scheduled. They might be able to accommodate you around Andy and Florrie.
It’s Friiiiiiiiiiday! Also known as the day I get paid. As for my “side hustle” I mentioned yesterday, I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you that I’m referring to my online surveys/studies and not anything “Adult” Haha. £14.52 from that is now in my PayPal.
Also, a little bit of useless “Who cares?” information for you… Every Friday when I’m on the train home from work, I get off at a different town and go for a gorgeous chocolate milkshake with cream. I will only do that on a Friday and no other day. Not even the weekend. This weekend I’m just staying at home. I’m not going out at all. Last weekend I met up with that wonderful 83 year old lady who I used to call every week at my Tuesday volunteering and the weekend before that I went to see my Auntie. So it’s looking like every 3rd weekend (Number Three!) will just be me relaxing at home*
*An exception for that could be bingo if I get something through the post from them during the week
Andy is singing “I Do Like to Be Beside the Seaside” a popular British music hall song. It was written in 1907 by John H. Glover-Kind and made famous by music hall singer Mark Sheridan who first recorded it in 1909. Here’s Basil Rathbone singing the song in one of his Sherlock Holmes movies: https://youtu.be/ZglHbYtP7WA
There was a couple, much like Andy and Flo, who spent their holiday at a seaside B&B. Every evening after supper, the husband made a beeline to the parlor and occupied the piano stool.
After several nights of this, his wife asked, “Why do you always sit on the piano stool? You don’t play the piano.”
“I know,” said the man, “and as long as I’m on it, neither can anyone else.”

toss his cap away, and he won’t (on a side note, I’m happy I didn’t meet up with Andy on my vacations though)

Shocking! They have a problem with loud, obnoxious, drunken louts while on holiday?! What’s the world coming to? :D
