I had a friend of mine who was a bartender and loved to bet on NFL football. The trouble was he was a terrible gambler and almost always picked losers. Unbeknownst to him, his wife would find out which teams he’d bet on and bet on the opposite side.
At the end of the season, not only had the wife recovered what hubby had lost but she’d amassed a tidy profit from the bookies.
There was a syndicated radio program in the southern United States called Leonard’s Losers. The show described college football matchups and then predicted which team would lose. The show’s gimmick was a rural delivery style (à la Jerry Clower) & comedic scripts using alternate team nicknames related to the school mascot or the school itself.

That’s hilarious

He’s well aware of Andy’s team, though the bookie should know that too, so he probably didn’t make that much quid!

Ask Pete Rose how betting on your teams works out.

I remember Oliver Hardy’s comment to Stan Laurel after the boxing match in Any Old Port-
“I bet on you to lose and you double crossed me!”

But did he beat the spread?

The real question here is: How much did he win?

I think Andy took great umbrage at that remark. You may need those winnings to pay your medical bill once he has a go around with you!
