I had read that there is a desert in the Antarctic that is dryer. It hadn’t rained in something like a thousand years or so and it is so dry that if you were to die there, you would just mummify, you can’t decompose.
That lad would probably find the only Oasis in 100 miles.
I doubt if the canal waters are blue like that. Perhaps a brownish tinge? Yellowish? Green?
He won’t survive without a pub.
Wouldn’t the bar be in an oasis?

Don’t they have a special “retriever” so they don’t get their uniforms wet?
Andy’s going to drown in that canal someday.
If he keeps it up, they’re going to name that canal after him, I wager there’s already nickname for that canal: “Capp’s Ditch”.
And if there’s no oasis, there will probably be a camel trough near the pub….
