I got to digging around and found some stuff I wrote. This is a poem I wrote for my CD, to come at the end. It’s called, “Just Once More”.

Just once more i’d like to go Where the water runs cold from last winters snow. Where the trout swim, firm and sleek And deer come down to drink from the creek. Where black bear roam the forest floor And high overhead the eagles soar. To spread my blanket in the canyon’s deep And let the murmuring creek lull me to sleep. Then to rise in the first light of day, All eager and ready to be on my way.

Just once more, I’d like to be Some place at the edge of the sea, Or down a new road and around a bend Never knowing where the trip might end. I loved to go a-yondering here and there With the sun overhead and the breeze in my hair. From moumtain to prarie to desert glare, One time or another I’ve likely been there. Folks often told me what I missed along the way. “well. I can’t see it all” is what I’d say..

Just once more I’d like to hear A loon’s call, loud and clear. A steam locomotive’s whistle on a cold still night. A coyote’s howl in the deeping twilight. But time goes on at ti’s steady pace And nobody knows how long the chase. What once became grey now goes white. Life has brought both sorrow and delight. But before I leave for that unknown shore I’d like to go a-yondering…..Just…..Once….More.

MONTANA LADY You are going to love the civilization and history of the East Coast. You can’t still get Cocomics on EDT but it is much better on EST, otherwise known as God’s time. If the East Coast acts like the world revolves around us, well——

    Good morning all.

As their footsteps echo down the hall They rush to answer Sandy’s call His wails of doom do portend That Annie may have met her end Alone, without his mistress near He seeks for someone to lend an ear A warning is what he wants to give So that our little Annie yet may live With no note as to where she was bound She will be difficult to be found But sonny boy lying in the sun May give proof to what’s been done And the camera that’s lying near Will show them who to fear Caused her absence on this morn And makes their hope become forlorn Where to look they must ask It looks to be a daunting task.

Shirttail Slim, YOU are the master.

you guys will find it rather crowded at gasoline alley..

lottsa room to spread out in the mutt n jeff comments section, and you will have fun making fun of mutt rolling up his sleeve yet again to pound his hapless pal… hard to get passionate about those bozos…

now, if there were a comic called ‘sock puppets’………;)

As we count down the days until the eventual demise of the Annie strip there are some burning questions that beg to be answered. Will Punjab and the Asp ever resurface? Will the captured submarine captain ever be rescued? Will Annie ever learn to stay out of trouble?

Another possible scenario - The Aluxes can tell Sandy or Santiago where Annie is. Remember them from 2004 or 2005?

    I remember them well david42.

Unfortunately it has already been determined that this current arc will NOT wrap up. Leaving us with many questions & mysteries unresolved.

I only hope that the PTB who do Annie in the future can do as good a job as Maeder & Slampyak.

    WW……….Superb as always.

Thank you, LS. I shall continue to take up space.

If any of you are familiar with the LA area in Southern CA. Stand on a SW facing slope of the San Gabriel (?) Mtns. and look west:

For mile after mile, from mountain to sea, A glowing metropolis is all one can see, Where lights hold back a star-filled sky And somewhere you can hear a river cry.

Enjoyed your lyrics, SS, and as usual, WW has nailed it.

davidf42 I like the Mutt & Jeff idea, GA is too crowded. I’m not passionate about too may comics other than Annie, that don’t already have a lot of comments each day.

Does anybody remember “Bringing Up Father”, at least I think that was the name of the strio?

Most of those that know me call me “Slim”, some call me “Shirttail”. Not many put them together, and I do answer to either one. Besides, there’s less to type.
