Arlo and Janis by Jimmy Johnson for June 29, 1994
Transcript:
Arlo examines a boat happily. Janis remarks, "I must admit your love affair with boats scares me." Surprised, Arlo asks, "Why?" Janis says, "I guess boats symbolize leaving." Arlo tries to console her, "I always pictured us sailing away together!" Janis remarks, "That's what really scares me!"
No need to worry, once he gets his boat he’ll never mention it again.
Always thought Arlo sailing his own boat could have made for some great strips.
Admittedly, not nearly as interesting/hilarious as “should we move or stay put,” but the right creative mind could have had mined some genuine comic gold.
