"When I was a boy, I had a dog."
"Children ranged freely in those days, and dogs followed.."
"Associating themselves with nomadic bands of semi-domesticated boys."
"Incredibly, the ancestors of modern boys and dogs."
Recently while walking in my neighborhood, I saw a dog off a leash, next to his own house, the owner was close by, and I got to enjoy the pleasure of having the dog come running up to me with tail wagging. I was actually charmed by this event. Sad but true.
