Sort of similar situation: I was dating the woman who would become my wife & we’d discussed staying together & marriage, but not right now. So I bided my time for a few more months until one time I came over & her journal was conveniently opened to a page where she knew I’d find it saying, “I’m tired of being just his ‘girlfriend’. I want more!”. So, I made my plans of proposal: the next month was February & I proposed on Valentine’s Day. She said “Yes” & we’ve been married 8 years this coming October.
