Arlo: Remember our wedding night?
Janis: Of course!
Janis: I remember being scared to death!
Arlo: Well, that was the first bottle of champagne I'd ever opened!
Janis: We both thought you might lose that eye!
what happened with Gene, Mary Lou and Shrimp??? looked like Gene would adopt Meg after the wedding but then they all disappeared from the strip. Arlo and J don’t hardly mention them. what gives?
I was working a New Years Eve party one year and we had to uncork about two hundred bottles of bubbly. We shot the corks for distance in the back hallway….
Three weddings for me… 1st wedding night (1984): we were both so exhausted from the ceremony and two receptions (2 hours apart) we got to the hotel and fell asleep in our wedding clothes. 2nd wedding night (1988): he got so drunk he passed out and I watched Beetlejuice before going to bed. 3rd wedding night: 2003, both of us closer to 50 than 40 and agreeing that we liked to sleep in our own beds): hotel messed up our adjoining rooms, so to visit my husband, I had to walk down two halls. 3rd time was funny because I had given up on the idea of the romantic wedding night and was mature enough to appreciate the irony. Not planning on a 4th one, ya know?

When you open any bottle that hasn’t been around for a while – watch out!! I speak from experience.

Hold the cork in one hand, turn the BOTTLE with the other. Do not let go of the cork. Substitute “stopper” for “cork” as necessary.

The slogan for my little town is “Uncork Paw Paw!” It just sounds wrong somehow….

I’ve never had a problem opening the bottles. Just remember to twist your fingers counterclockwise while unscrewing and it goes just fine.
