Used to work in a packing plant and I still eat baloney/bologna. Not as bad as people make out, what with FDA regs.

Yes, it is a white sauce. If it was a bechamel it would have nutmeg in it.

The difference between an Englishman and an American:…Oscar Wilde*: “In matters of grave importance, style, not sincerity is the vital thing.”…Arlo: “Baloney improves everything.”…

I know that Oscar Wilde was born an Irishman. But since he spent most of his life in England, wrote about the English society and influenced the English culture to a certain degree I hope you will forgive me calling him an Englishman.

I believe when he said baloney, he was talking about the spiel he as given out and that you get in fancy restaurants. Not actual baloney in the food.

UncaJim: A minor is good for an unimportant joke – not sharp and not flat.

They serve you moldy cheese and call it Bleu cheese and double the price. Same with snails, spoiled grape juice, fish eggs, and burnt food. Call it escargot, wine, caviar, and flambé and you think it is gourmet food.

I believe the last time Arlo made Bechamel sauce in a cartoon, the colorist made it brown. Taking no chances this time, Jimmy doesn’t show the sauce AND has Janis refer to it as a “white sauce”. Take that, uncultured colorist!

“Some versions of the recipe call for adding salt and black or white pepper”-White pepper’s always good. You can’t see it, but you can taste it.

“You wouldn’t have cheese of any sort without mold.”-You should know better than that child, many kinds of cheese have no mold whatsoever.
