Arlo says, "What're you doing?" Arlo says, "Looking up something?" Arlo says, "Shopping? Watching a movie? Writing emails? Reading a book? Listening to music? Paying bills?" Janis says, "Checking the weather." Arlo says, "Why don't we feel better off than we do?"

Personally, I’m constantly stunned by my ability to Google all the knowledge in the whole wide world….Gotta admit, that’s pretty cool…. So anyway, I feel better off…..Seriously, all the knowledge in the world, without having to go to the library and plow though the drawers of index cards to find things. And now all of it is at my fingertips and my whim…How cool is that? I feel much better off….

Arlo, we don’t feel better off because knowing everything instantly doesn’t equal contentment. Contentment comes from experiencing failure along the way, the agony of the effort involved and the satisfaction of having accomplished something that was previously unachievable. Half the fun is in the journey.

nice that they don’t have children or grandkids to be bothered with or aging parents or siblings in their lives. life is so much easier when your only concern is yourself but it can get boring.

Don’t look it up, Janis. Make it up. It’s more fun that way.

Often, when we are going on vacation, I marvel that our whole family is whisking along in private climate controlled comfort at 75 mph, able to listen to world class music at a whim, unslowed by darkness. Back at work, it is the puniness of my mortal carcass against whatever weather Nature sees fit.

The problem is that wrong answers come up just as easily as correct ones. If you want to know who that actress is, then no harm done. But if you want to know the correct torque to secure the brake lines on your car faulty info can be deadly.

Every time my husband or I google something I often wonder what we used to do in the ‘old days’ before computers and of course the smart phone.

Night-Gaunt49: However, Gore, along with other members of both houses, did sponsor the bill that took a secret communication system between the Pentagon and their subject universities, and made it available to us all.
