Meanwhile… I opened the forum today just to get other readers’ takes on this new incarnation.

Maybe Jimmy can’t quite remember what she looks like cos she’s here so seldom.

It’s Chick Day at Tractor Supply and it looks like someone stopped by to pick up a few.

Maybe they need a rooster roster.

Maybe Meg was drawn by a Leprechaun on St. Patrick’s Day?

Oh look she got Peeps for Easter.

Most of the time, the chicks at the Co-Op are already sexed as female. And yep, that’s somebody’s job…

That is one homely child.

Hmm, Meg is looking a little awkward. Maybe if her hair was a little longer.

Or these chicks are what’s called “straight run” which means you get them as they are hatched, some of each. If I were buying baby chicks again that’s what I’d get.

They live on a farm.They run a cafe/restaurant.Could be a not-so-great day come autumn.

Then again, Meg has been pretty level-headed, so she may be good with the cycle of life.

Has she aged again? I wish that there was more continuity in the timeline with Meg. She changes & jumps years, it appears. She was a 5 year old one day, & an adolescent the next. Now, what, about 11?

This reminds me of the time several years ago when we stopped at a truck stop where there was a trailer full of piglets being dispensed to 4H kids. Boy howdy…talk about commotion! 50 excited kids, 50 piglets shrieking their displeasure with the proceedings and my wife singing Old MacDonald Had a Farm over everything.

They ‘ppep’ not ‘jeep’ … am I getting old?

I have a real problem with 4-H. Those animals are treated as family pets, pampered, fed the best food, learn to love and trust their “people” – and then sold to a slaughter house. And if you’ve seen videos of those places, they are hideous enough, never mind thinking of a family pet spending their last moments of life there. Ugh.

There is nothing like a few chickens in the yard!

Maybe day old ducklings, they peep like that too. Ours did.

He draws Meg more unattractive each time. She used to be cute, now she is homely.

I hope there’s a lesson here about NOT giving kids live animals for Easter! Most do not end well, very sad.

Maybe they’re actually peeper frogs….!
