Tough job these times. But good humor is so needed today, I appreciate every effort in trying to make people laugh, if it’s done decently. Without bashing people less fortunate or singleing out groups that are just a bit different.
I think he’s commenting on the more or less “banning” of clowns this past Halloween due to people’s sudden fear of evil/scary clowns that were popping up all over.
I blame the jerks who have been dressing up as Evil Clowns and terrorizing both America and over in England, where one guy has gotten fed up, has been dressing up as Batman, and chasing the Evil Clowns off so that kids and adults won’t have to be scared anymore.
My 60 year old aunt who raised me said and I quote (sort of)…“If a clown messes with me and my grandchildren, I’ll [eff] that clown up!” She includes my and my sister’s children as her grandchildren.
I remember reading once about how a man visited a psychiatrist (this was back in the early 1900’s) the psychiatrist diagnosesed the man as clinically depressed and suggested that the man go to the theater where a traveling clown had the whole city in stitches and high spirits at which point the patient told the psychiatrist, I’m that clown.

Pay attention to whats real. Scary clowns are made up hype. Just like the boogie man under the bed, except for Calvin & Hobbes, of course.

Sorry folks but clowns are now in the same category as Zombies, child molesters and serial killers. There is no going back now.

It’s kind of sad. One of my favorite performers of all time (Red Skelton) was a clown.
