Arlo and Janis by Jimmy Johnson for February 20, 2017
Transcript:
Janis: Silly me! There's no mail today - it's 'Presidents Day'! Arlo: Actually, the federal holiday officially is 'Washington's Birthday'! Arlo: 'Presidents Day' came into use informally in 1971, with the 'Uniform Monday Holiday Act'! Janis: What my parents could have saved on education if they had only known I was going to meet you!

When the gov originally instituted Presidents’s Day, they claimed it was to make one holiday of both Washington and Lincoln’s February birthdays and to put it on Monday.

When I actually worked for a living, I really didn’t care who’s birthday it was just as long as I got the 3 days off. Now, all I have is time to think about all I have forgotten and still be a fount of wisdom when I discuss politics with my wife. She agrees just to shut me up.
