Having a conversation is one thing, but “talking” is quite another. When “talking” about a problem women talk about “it”, how it was the same before, how “x” reacted to it, when it happened, how it happened, what her sister said, what the other sister said, what she should have said yesterday, how her nephew isn’t doing right about “it”… Then I fall asleep…
One final comment. Once in a while, my wife becomes upset because I don’t have moods. She says that I have one mood, all the time, and that it bothers her sometimes.
Oh, well. Some things about my wife, I can’t figure out.

My wife always seems to want to talk in the middle of the night.

I guess, then, that I am a husband of many, many years. I can tell my wife’s mood even when I’m asleep, and it always wakes me up.

I never try talking to my wife at night, she is a sound sleeper.

I lost my wife of 44 years to cancer. I’d give anything for another of her middle-of-the-talks.
