I am in charge of locking up in the house or in the RV. I have a system at home I check the kitchen door lock, I then check that “6 off on the stove”, and lastly “nothing plugged in” (meaning toaster oven, etc. next to stove). This way we both know that everything is off. In the RV it is much easier – I just hit the lock button on the keyfob to make sure.
Husband and I started looking alike decades and decades ago. When we had been dating a two years his paternal grandfather died. His parents and sister were in France on vacation. So we went to the wake without them as they rushed home. I had never met his family beyond his maternal grandparents. At the wake everyone – meaning his extended family – assumed I was his sister as “This must be B, you look so much alike”. His family does not get together much. We park at a local park and walk through it to the Post office every day to check our PO box. We started waving to the woman in the recreation booth as we went past. One day she stopped us – “are you married or brother and sister?”
