I have been cursed with my father’s eye. Like him, I am distracted by misplacements of just a fraction of an inch. One of his favorite expressions was “Square with the world” and yes, that wreath is almost, but not quite centered.
My take was that they also have a Christmas gaslight with a bow on it, which is crooked, according to Janis, which is somewhere else around the house. The joke is that the use of the term “gaslight” went over Janis’ head (as with a number of readers).

Arlo just go with the flow. You do not want to incur the wreath of Janis.

I have spared you the rather long ghost story I have on this subject.

Now what was it that Arlo said on 12.05.19? Ah, yes. He said, “How long have we been married?”
Turnabout is the fairest but most unkind of play, eh, Arlo?

Reminds me of the comment by a retired carpenter friend of mine: “plumb and a little more”.

“Gaslighting”. I’m not familiar with that term. Little help?

One occasion, my then GF was insisting a picture wasn’t level. My level said it was, so I checked the ceiling, it wasn’t.

She’s serious. To an individual so obsessed with perfection even a half a degree off is unacceptable.

There is no bow. She is gaslighting him.

“Crazy over YOU.”
“That excuses a lot of other flaws.”
