Earlier this spring my wife decided to go to a one-piece or a tankini instead of a two-piece suit. She’s pretty depressed about it, but at 60-something with two kids and four grands, she should be proud she had a nice figure this long. I know I am.
Bragging time – I was 100 lbs heavier in my wedding photos than I am now. It took work to get rid of it and takes more to keep it off. Worth it. 50 mile bicycle ride coming up this Saturday.
This is my bride exactly. I see a gorgeous woman. She sees, as she puts it, monster crows feet and wrinkles like a shar-pei. For the life of me, I only see the bride I married 47 years ago (next week)
I have a photo of my wife, taken a year after our second daughter was born. She’s in a bikini, sitting in a reclining lawn chair. She looks every bit as good as Janis’ old picture. That was long ago… but she still looks great to me.
Didn’t Arlo say, maybe sometime last year when they looked at some old pictures, something like: “It took you forever to fill out.” He’s happy with her the way she is.

If you lose 25 pounds you will complain of the loose skin, so just stay cuddly.

It happens to everyone. It’s called growing old. Not everyone has someone to grow old with. Count yourself lucky if you do.

Does Arlo understand Janis’ code talk?

As long as you have the picture and memory nothing else has to change.

“I wish I still looked like the girl in this picture from the beach.”
At what point does a grown woman stop being a girl and instead becomes a gal?

C’mon Janis, embrace it (and Arlo, who has the right attitude).

I could make a comment here about women rejecting reality, but it would get me in trouble so I won’t

I would like, for just one moment, my wife to see herself through my eyes.

Women don’t get it. My Lady looks better to me now, in her 60s, than when I met her. I get it.

I have lost 30 lb.s this year, with 17 to go, and I am 76. Will this loose skin ever tighten up?

Arlo, be very careful how you word your response!!!

Arlo’s morale support appears to be wasted on her. She’s obsessed instead of being grateful. What waste of time.

Janis should appreciate how she looks NOW. In 10 years she will look back to this age and think she looked much better then.
