It’s a little early for the head in the fridge around here. Just wait till the real heat and humidity starts in August, although it seems like it is getting an early start this year.
My wife is a heat-lover. Yesterday she went out to weed wearing a sweatshirt and sweater…then the sun came out. She decided it was officially t-shirt weather. Definitely improved her mood.
Give me a chance to lop one season off the year, and I would not hesitate; summer is hell.
I’ll take 45° over 75° (that’s °F; about 7° & 28° for our °C friends) any time, and hotter than that is not meant for human habitation! And don’t tell me about the desert and how “But it’s a dry heat” – so’s an oven; ain’t agonna sit in one if I can help it.
I’m with you, Janis. And, of course, love being the evil trickster it is, She is freezing at anything under 75° (seriously; last week it got down to 74°, and She was huddled up in a heavy sweater under a blanket complaining that She was freezing. I start sweating sitting still – in shorts & a Hawai’ian shirt – at 72°.)
The other ladies in my previous knitting group used to refer to the hot flashes associated with menopause as “personal summer”, so there’s another summer for you.
Okay, I don’t get the “it’s hot, but not humid” thing that desert folks talk about? Here in sunny FL it’s in the high 90’s and very low humidity right now. Very NOT normal for us this time of year. Still feels like being in heII outside – this dry heat is worse, at least for me – can’t wait for hot and humid to come back.
I hate heat, but I hate humidity more. I live in central AZ and summer gets to 117, 118, 119. As long as the humidity stays at 6% I can get from my office to the car to my home to stores, all of which are heavily air conditioned.

Does this fridge vent out the bottom, or from coils in the back? If it’s in the back, that’s an Arlo problem.
Ermine Notyours over 2 years ago
It’s only slightly less stupid than cooling down from drinks or ice in the fridge, which also get cold from heating up the kitchen.

Well let’s see, there’s Susan Summers, Jamie Summers, Indians Summer (if it’s ok to say), dog days of summer…

I just got a new ductless A/C, just in time. Less trouble than the windows ones.

Personally, I think Arlo is a downer.

^ I’m not going to elevate that with a response. Some people wouldn’t know a downer if they saw him in the mirror.

Personally I adhere to the summer solstice marking Midsummer Day.

Solar summer begins in early May, halfway between the vernal equinox and the summer solstice.
