I’m in the camp of “we can’t make true artificial intelligence because we don’t have the perspective.”
It has been a bit over 50 years since the first thing that could be called a “personal computer” – the Kenbak-1 – appeared. With most of a century of personal computing behind us, and a lot of supercomputers in our midst, we are no closer to human-like intelligence than ever. We can define inductive reasoning and imagination but we aren’t close to having either of them in computers on a human level.
I don’t mind giving out candy to teenagers who may be a bit old to be trick or treating but I kind of think grown adults of Arlo’s age are too old to be begging candy.
