so, on a beautiful sunny day in the Irish countryside, a farmer goes to check on the growth of his barley crop and spies his red headed teen-age daughter sunbathing topless in a clearing. He promptly yells, “Erin, Go Bra!!!”
Salem set aside some money to fix sidewalks and set up a website for reporting problems. It’s oversubscribed by a factor of five. Lots of really bad concrete was poured back in the ’70s.
@ermine Notyours…..Bah on tree lined streets AND the timelyness of this cartoon. Yesterday, (I guess St Pat was attacking Italians early), I was taking my morning walk on a new route (along a sidewalk lined with trees. I looked up for just a moment and like Janic tripped on a raised slab. Unlike Janic I did not loose my phone (which was in my pocket) but did a running fall. Spent 6 hours in the emergency room being checked for broken bones and kidney damage. Bah, humbug! But I am much better now….NOT!

Arlo had the clipped version. In full, the blessing, which is also used as a prayer, reads something like this:
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
May the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
Doubt a longer text would have saved Janis that trip but Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all my fellow A&J fans.

Okay, a poll. Did the road rise up to meet her, or did she fall down to meet the road?

I replied earlier that I always thought that “May the road rise to meet you.” had more to do with keeping out of the mud.

“Wishing you a rainbow, For sunlight after showers— Miles and miles of Irish smiles, For golden happy hours— Shamrocks at your doorway,
For luck and laughter too, And a host of friends that never ends, Each day your whole life through”.
