I think JJ is going for the sound of rustling leaves but these are a kid’s favorite days of the year! Halloween, Thanksgiving, and of course Christmas! When you also throw in your birthday the rest of the year is just time to kill. My wife, on the other hand, hates that everything is dying.

The mornings are a bit cooler, but the surest sign that fall is here is that my Honey Locust trees are beginning to turn gold and the peach tree leaves are turning brown. The rest won’t be far behind.

The last three days have been exceptionally clear – no haze, no smoke, something I haven’t seen all summer. We can only hope fired crews are getting some help from a handful of short rains.

Yes, the BONG, rattle, rattle, bong of acorns falling on the skylights, rolling down the roof and into the gutters.

I think there’s going to be a lot of Autumn arriving in the next few days with that storm hitting Florida and moving north. I wish I had a magic wand to protect all those that will experience the hurricane making it’s way toward them this week.
