    Also… We LIKE Dogs

Years ago, my manager just SNAPPED after almost two decades in retail. I think he had decided internally that today was his last day, and he was taking no prisoners. This came to a head when a customer tried shouting at him when he was already dealing with another polite customer.

Customer: “Excuse me! I’m talking to you!”

Manager: “And I was talking to another customer, sir. Now, how can I help you?”

Customer: “Why didn’t you talk to me when I got your attention?!”

Manager: “I did the first time when I told you I would be with you after talking to my current customer.”

Customer: “Yes, but I asked you again!”

Manager: “I make a point of ignoring customers when they ask questions at inappropriate times, so it forces them to learn. It’s like training a dog!”

Customer: “Are you calling me a dog?!”

    Manager: “No, because dogs learn.”

At the end of the shift [Manager] said, “Peace out,” clocked out, and never came back. The store manager just said [Manager] needed some time off, and that turned out to be indefinite. Last I checked, he now teaches people how to scuba with his cousin, and he seems happy!

NOT my story, but that’s kinda how I wound up quitting. Just decided one Friday “Today’s the day.”

Hello Dark Brew My Old Friend

I’ve come to slurp you once again

Because a jagged headache has arisen

    Splitting my head into division

And the double vision that wavers in my brain

    Still remains

And I demand ‘The Sound of Silence’!

One of the perks of being the early bird of the family. Quiet, a cup of Joe, and GoComics.

I love drinking my “cupa” and getting some laughs and chuckles from GoComics. Always a great way to start the day off.

I’m not sure it was intentional but it invokes the memorable line "I love the smell of napalm in the morning” by Lt Col. Bill Kilgore (Robert Duvall) from the 1979 movie Apocalypse Now.
