Instead of leaving a longer, complicated list of things for the babysitter to remember, just taped little notes with brief instructions onto the things she'll be likely to need. Yeah, right. What's wrong with that idea? When is the last time we've been able to find a pen, notepaper and tape all at the same time? You've got a point there?
