I remember once in elementary school, I was talking to my friend and I said something like “somebody said that the Indians (I meant native Americans) blah blah…” and My friend said whoever calls them Indians are dumb because that’s not what they are actually called and I felt so embarrassed LMAO

To be fair, she has a pretty good handle on how exactly the land was taken from the natives. Manifest destiny and all that rubbish.
