Mad Magazine used to have a feature called “Horrifying Clichés” where common cliches and idioms were illustrated as literal things, such as splitting a difference might show a strange creature (a difference) literally being split into two parts or “tripping the light fantastic” would show someone tripping a different creature (the light fantastic) to make it fall.
I wonder what “Stop the Bickering” would look like.
