Unfortunately, there are people like this. I can’t stand people who refuse to allow their kids one bit of independence. You have to cut the leash at some point and then where will they be? Just… teach your kids basic life skills.
Long ago, I knew a lady who left her baby in the carrier in her cart while she walked a few feet around the corner of the aisle. Before she knew it some woman was yelling “There’s an abandoned Chinese baby!” The mother quickly hurried around and claimed the baby. However, the crazy busybody criticized her for having adopted a Chinese baby. (The mother was white) The mother explained that her husband is Indonesian, but the other woman wouldn’t believe her.
