In looking back at B.C. and seeing the half-beards, I wonder if that’s when the recent no shave look originated. I thought the style was dated at the time it showed up in ads and series. I still do. Same for the two sizes too small tailoring of tv newscasters. They remind me of Buster Keaton’s suit when he got dunked fully dressed, then hung out to dry.
@Sanderling75 – I think this was simply Hart’s way of rendering a beard.
But I’ve had this “no shave” look for several years. I hate shaving, yet I can’t stand a full beard either. So about once a week I just “shave” with a trimmer, it’s the fastest, easiest way to take care of it. A former boss of mine, a very old-school guy in his ’70’s, once gave me a snarky comment on it, but I didn’t care.

Why have we been getting double comment entries lately?

That could happen if you hit send (comment) twice.

Also happens if you don’t hit twice, but not every time. Strange.
