Depends on the bet. If it’s big enough he’ll hang on. Small amount, down 7 with only 2 holes to go, maybe not worth the effort. Like poker, the ‘weight’ of one’s hand vs the cards showing, vs the pot. Stay, raise, or fold.
I’ve seen some unbelievable meltdowns on the final holes of tournaments. I think the pressure gets to them.
