Gracie: Tia Carmen, what can you tell me about the birds and the bees? Tia Carmen: Oh, my... uh... let's see. Tia Carmen: To begin with, they should be ashamed of themselves!
Ah yes, gotta start the repression early! And now that that line of communication is permanently closed, she’ll be getting her information from the playground. Just because you had bad parents, Carmen, doesn’t mean you should pass on their misinformation to poor Gracie!!
That’s not a “typical Christian” reaction. It only is by people who don’t understand their own faith. Sex is a beautiful thing, and in its proper context its amazing! Just like almost everything else we do, however, proper context is key. If your appetite craves a hamburger, but you know you should be eating chicken and vegetables, its not a denial of who you are to chose the healthy food instead. So it is with sex. Within marriage, sex is not only good for your own body, but it also draws you closer to your spouse in ways that boggle the mind. However, this closeness only works properly if you have already made the commitment to stay with each other for the rest of your lives. Anything less, and you invite doubt and insincerity into your bed. This, in my opinion, is why God warns Christians against sex outside of marriage.

The Spanish version, translated via Yahoo Babelfish, says,
Where it looks for the stork the babies?
When it sees the next stork, I ask to him.
The English is funnier, but at least I now know the Spanish word for stork is cigüeña.

So, Carmen, you don’t think there should be any children? I’m sure Gaea would approve.

Well, my Mom always said that the bees sting and the birds sing. And that always sounded right to me. But then I was a kid. What did I know?

I never understood why it’s “birds and bees”. The bee part I get it: pollinization and all that, but what do the birds have to do with all that?
