Baldo by Hector D. Cantú and Carlos Castellanos for November 02, 2014

Gracie: Listen to this! Gracie: Studies show that girls' brains can begin developing up to 10 years earlier than boys' brains. Gracie: Boys tend to be more restless... Gracie: More impulsive... Gracie: And more developmentally immature. Baldo: That's so stupid! Shut up, poopy head!
While there’s no doubt that they develop differently, the implication in the Gracie’s tone is that girls are therefore superior. This is as ridiculous as saying boys are superior because they generally develop stronger bodies in puberty. There are bright, mature boys and girls, men and women. Which isn’t to say that boys don’t tend to be more restless and impulsive – only that placing a value judgement on it is counterproductive.
