I’m not looking forward to those sleepless nights. Parents go from sleepless due to feedings (baby), sleepless due to illnesses and nightmares (small children), to sleepless when they’re teens and hang out until late night. Being a parent is the perfect cure to sleep.
I’ve been blessed with good kids who rarely go out and when they do they’re usually back before midnight. There’s one away at college, one home attending college, one graduating this year and going away to college, one in 10th grade – those are all boys. The real trouble will come with the girls, one’s turning 14 May 21st and one just turned 10.
I LOVE THIS ONE! Been there, done that! I now appreciate what MY PARENTS went through. And it doesn’t matter how old your children get, you are still their parent, that never changes! All we can hope is that they realize like I did, if you have GOOD parents, what being a Parent means! And it is a FOREVER thing, you know?

Edited to say: I meant not looking forward to the teen years. I’m in the middle of the sleepless parent life cycle right now.
