Higher paying? Not likely. You get a fancier title in lieu of better pay..Remember when “sanitary engineers” were known as “janitors”? Change in title didn’t come with a raise, but was in place of one.
I agree baking is more technical than cooking. There is no save for cake falls or uncooked insides of muffins. But, there are “save and salvage” methods for most meats and just about any main dish.
Also, now I know that Gracie is a wee bit weird. What kid keeps lab coats in their closet?? Gracie es una nina muy extrana. Madre Mia!

Cooking is a science, especially baking bread. I use scales instead of volume for measuring.
