I’d be very proud if he was my kid, especially with so much pressure to buy this gadget or do this activity.

    Good for Baldo !

As a kid, I never considered the money I put in the bank, as cash. Sort of, out of sight – out of mind, savings.

To this day, I figure that, I can’t spend it, if it’s not in my pocket.

I don’t carry credit cards ( too tempting ) but do carry my debit/credit cards, for emergencies.

I’m glad Baldo is saving money, but a little bothered. If, say, Baldo is working 20 hours a week, even at minimum wage (considering his boss) he would make about $7,500 in a year. While he won’t get the FICA deductions back, Baldo would be exempt from income tax and so he ought to have a net income of over $6,500. So if he only has a little under $3,100 saved, that means Baldo spent more than half the money he made, and since he doesn’t pay rent or buy groceries, where did that money go?
