Husband and I used to have rule – one could not buy a Valentine or Valentine gift for the other – we made the gifts (which generally were the Valentine itself also).
One year I sewed together a facsimile of a heart – with the major veins and arteries attached – another year a pom pom cupid, two other years I made each of us (one per year) as some small bears I make, and so on. One year he made me a 18th century pincushion which would have had pins as a decoration (given as baby gift and straight pins were used for diapers) – his had pins which spelled out our wedding info.
But we knew we had run out of ideas when I took a piece of paper and glued on some pennies and wrote with marker – “It makes cents that I love you.” and his was not much better.
Now we just mostly ignore it. Today it was dinner time before either of us realized it that it was today.
He is going crazy right now trying to find a replacement a cell phone for me (have 4G phone with service being discontinued) that will not annoy me and will fit in the pocket of my jeans. We both do things like this for each other and it means so much more than a card and/or some occasion gift does.

I’d thought Baldo was left-handed, yet he threw it right-handed.

Good that it’s “soar” and not ""sore".
