Baldo just doesn’t have the patience and the mindset to tackle a big job like. Not to mention the money he needs to invest in the proper tools AND a repair guide for that car. Plus, he’s still a teenager. I can relate to this because years ago I bought a 1974 VW Beetle from someone for $500 and I putzed around and never fixed it. Hind site is definitely 20/20 because looking back, I wish I had the maturity and dedication to fix that classic! But it was nowhere near the condition that Baldo’s is!
I rebuilt two vehicles in H S. A 1953 F100, a farm truck, that needed a lot of cosmetic work, and a 1955 Chevy Belair, that really didn’t need it, but I, a teenager, thought it did. Yes, I had a job. Baldo has a job and a really neat car, that needs pretty much everything, but then it’s cartoonland so that explains why the rebuilt doesn’t get off the ground.
Starting the year same as we did last year – have not fixed that Christmas ornament which needed fixing when we were putting away the ornaments last year and kept it out to do so.

I’ll bet that car needs a lot more than that Baldo. Brakes come to mind among other things.

That missing spindle has a lot of poundage//you probably will really need a roll-bar.

In 1962 the Impala was a clunky/poor handling middle class family car that was traded in after 3 years before it started falling apart.

What about the situation that you believe will change but never does? There is a lot to ruminate here.

And the transmission – don’t forget the tranny…

Baldo, you’ll also need a full gas tank, or the only way you’ll get that car to move is by pushing it!

A battery that isn’t dead would also be a good idea.

You’re better off where you are, Baldo: The highway’s jammed with broken heroes on a last-chance power drive.
