Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood morning, Locos! Fifty-three years ago on this date (December 23rd) I arrived in town for the first time. The trip started on the 21st in a raging blizzard that lasted to the Wyoming border from Omaha, Day 1, 18 hours. Day 2 was better but I encountered fierce 70 MPH head winds crossing Wyoming and a huge sheet of ice just north of Ogden, UT which had me going sideways until I got it straightened out. Finished the day just inside the Oregon border in an ice storm. Day 2, 16 hours. Woke up on the 23rd to sunshine and dry roads, made it to town by 11:30 AM being very grateful to be at my new home for Christmas. I know it’s early but Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah!
