I’ve known a few different dogs named Shadow.

Bev…. it’s like a hot eggnog with a higher concentration of brandy and/or rum (usually both.)

Kind of a holiday drink in the midwest where I grew up (though when I lived there, I was too young to drink them.)

People had special sets of cups for them.

I say if it’s gonna rain and snow and freeze, holiday drinks are still in order!

440RR …. Rocky is a gentleman … er… dog.He makes certain that his tail is properly placed for photos.

Bev…. I believe there are still quite a few Yak-a-bobs in the fridge.

I think the Monkey doesn’t know how to cook for “several” people…to him that means at least 25 pounds of yak.

He ran ‘em as a dinner special tonight, and I thought I’d pull ’em out for snack plates tonight.

And Briatollah…. while the Tiki Bar does not refuse to serve yak tartare, or yak carpaccio, either….I must officially remind you that the yak meat is imported fresh from Turdmunkestan.

It is VERY thoroughly inspected and carefully shipped…. especially ever since the unfortunate Sausage Hut incident… after which Essex permanently shuttered his establishment.

Nonetheless, you order yak tartare at your own risk.

Linguist… oh yes… rare is best for taste and for health…but not completely raw if it was commercially processed…Cooking the outside somewhat kills any bacteria on the cut surfaces.

It doesn’t make the meat healthier but does make it safer in the short term.

Personally, I love raw fish… but I’m careful about where it comes from.

I used to eat raw beef but these days I don’t cos of salmonella and e coli concerns… but I still eat my steak barely warm in the middle… even yak.

Right Bev…. we don’t mention that b-word to the Monkey…. I promised him he wouldn’t have to eat any and I keep my word.

But now that some customers like it, I’ll still make b-slaw, and label it “Not for Monkeys.”

Tom ‘n’ Jerrys do have a rather soporific effect.

Bunbun was so impressed by Rocky’s shadow puppets he begged their owner to show him how to do it.

(He’d ask Rocky, but he’s afraid of dogs.)

He’s doing very well…. for a rabbit….but he’s a little unclear on the concept….

pcolli… it’s illegal to sell or even possess horsemeat in California, where I live.

When I moved here, now rather many years ago, there was still a horsemeat butcher in this city…albeit not much patronised.

He went out of business long before the legal ban, due to general aversion to eating horses…in fact I don’t think there are any horse slaughterhouses left in the US.

There was a lull in business at the Tiki, so I went for a late walk through the cartoon streets…

Yes, Icky. I left my man a message that I had seen the snow headed his way last night. He was not online so, either working or getting well deserved rest ;-)When he cooks, he does not make extra unless he gets an idea to try and “improve” a recipe. He might make it as many as 5-6 times before he’s happy. I like that we so often cook together (not looking forward to his take on vegan, tho);-P

We got a slushy mess of about 3", as well. Wish I didn’t have to go out today, but have an appointment. I hate messy slush! (Truth be told, I’m really hating New England winters in my “old age” !!!)

I always saw the hand as the whole point! I thought the rest of you were joking about a turkey (grade school kids trace their hand to draw a crude turkey now-a-days). The whole point was the bunny turning body into a hand (hence 4 ears, which was out of place, perhaps rapid movement). I’ll be back later.

I’m not sure I read either CD or FA today. I refilled all my water bottles and called a grandson to wish him Happy 24th Bday. Need to take down a load of laundry before it starts to get dark and chilly.
