Good to see you Dogsniff….Hey, if he has a tissue i there, it might be a musical instrument….He might belong to the Ballard Street Komb Kazoo Korps….they march every Saturday.
Can’t fill the moon order for a few days…and I’m a bit over the hill for the other part…(as if I were ever a Venus anyway) so…. what else can I get you?
A word to Shikamoo and StelBel…(Couldn’t say it while the little monkeys were here…. shhh)
They are adorable, and reliable…and of course very professional bartenders….
They learned from Fenton, and look up to him … even copy his bow ties…. they think….BUT…. it takes two or three of them to carry a heavy drink. They really really want to be movers… they’re honest and they come on time…But they’re much better at arranging a sock drawer or a jewelry box than a living room.
Oh…. don’t they look cute! Those two are even smaller than most of the Tiki bartenders…. The Monkey, very reluctantly, had to get a sign made:
He hated to do it… but the teeniest ones were spilling beer. On patrons.I’m glad they can still get work, though…. and I’m sure the Monkey will feel better too.
I was a little surprised yesterday when you told Shika that they were “experts at moving, unpacking and organizing households.”I didn’t quite know what to say if she did contact me as you suggested…So I’m glad you understand.
Susan I left you a reply at CD, but I come here and find your little monkey hugging that big drink! Did you perchance have some of Stel’s morning coffee?
Wow, for a Saturday night, it’s quiet here! But if you all had the beautiful day we had here, perhaps everyone is outside still enjoying their day/evening.
@Dry, It has been really chilly the last 2 days here but tomorrow is supposed to reach the 70s and 79 by the end of the week – I’m putting off any activities until Monday. I’ve been on the strider twice today (keeping warm) and just finished with my Resperate. I knew my man would be busy all day today with a client that he agreed to the last time we were Skyping – he put her on the speaker phone (as he often does when I’m with him or online) He knows that some of the people amuse me (as they do him); she even had her plumber on the phone during that call and he agreed to help take the old unit up the basement stairs. If not he would have one of his former workers do it (but more costs as the guy would have to travel to the site). He may even finish tomorrow if he doesn’t finish today, as I know he already has work planned for Monday.
I’m just in, waiting for the change over. The weather around here got up to the mid 50s and I went for a nice bike ride this afternoon. I could have worn shorts.
There is a short-wave radio station, WUUV, out of Ft Collins Colorado that broadcasts nothing but the exact time.I like to have my watch set to the second. As a bus driver, I’ve become very time consious. It’s on several frequencies, 2.5mhz, 5mhz, 10mhz, 15mhz, 20mhz and 25mhz. Some frequencies work better than others depending on weather and atmospheric conditions. There is another station like it out of Hawaii.
Wow… I forgot about that….Right now you’re FOUR hours ahead of me instead of three…. And Brian is still an hour ahead but will soon be two…till I catch up.
Good afternoon all….and a great day to you, too, IMudd…..
I wish you all could have California weather today….. even up here in the “frozen North” as my LA relations call Sonoma County.
It comes and goes…. a sunny day, a cloudy one, a warm one, a cool one….but today is glorious…. I should be out in it.
Dazz, even your 57º is what Briatollah is calling gorgeous and sunny…. and most of our friends still stuck in late snow and slush would be overjoyed to see.
No need for :( about it.
And while I’m sorry for those driving to work, or taking kids to school, tomorrow morning in the dark…. I’ll be happy to see another hour of sun this evening.
It’s strange to much of the world that the US is too big to have “an” official time…we have 4 time zones.
Actually, there’s usually a world map on that site; they pared it down cos of so many hits on a time-changing day.But there’s an arrow to check other time zones.
I’ve always thought DST was silly, especially since we do fine without it here. There is no way to get around the fact that days shorten and lengthen with changes in the seasons. I used to HATE the times when I had to leave for work before light and return after dark. Now I wait for time when night temps will be above 60 so I can use natural ventilation. Until it reaches that (soon) I have heat on (set at 74 days and 69 nights).
Does anyone know if the Ballard City Square Clock has been set forward an hour?? I’m not even sure what the correct time is! I’ve been confused all day……
Ever since the Tornado of ’55, that clock has been confused…..
City offices, however, seem to run just fine…Just the other day, a very nice clerk looked through a whole pile of business license records for me, from bottom to top.
By the way, Susan …I just got a message from Bev . She wants to warn you to check all the bananas at the Tiki! Apparently, there’s been a stowaway problem on the banana boats!

George never really got the hang of that “letting go of the leash” part of lesson 7, when he took Sparky to obedience school.
In fact, Sparky passed with flying colors….George is still trying to figure out “Off!”His dismount from the couch really needs work.

I’m hoping spring comes soon and gets everyone out and about.

I dunno about the smileys….
I thought LadyLavendar had called it with “Happy New Year”….
But the Russian would work….
I’d thought pcolli’s idea of “salut” was short a syllable….but if you say “sal-ut-é” it fits very well too.
I don’t know how to turn up the volume so we could hear it….

WUUV give the time in Universal Coordinated Time, aka Greenwich Mean Time, aka Zulu Time.

Yes… I’m sure…cos he felt bad about putting up that height requirement sign.
I think he may even have cheated a fraction of an inch when he taped it to the bottle.
I mean, it might be set at 3.85 inches or so…. just to leave fewer out. I didn’t measure…. it’s his bar.
SusanSunshine Premium Member over 11 years ago
At first, I tried to tell them about ties….but they don’t understand why they should be worn in one place and not another.
And as long as they’re happy….
Truth to tell, I think the Monkey finds all clothes pretty silly anyway….but he wears ‘em cos it’s expected. Most of the time, anyway.
