Ahoy, Fenton. Set a round up on me, for everyone – even the latecomers – and I’ll take my usual nightcap of a large Redbreast – easy on the ice. MI’ve got to make my rounds while my 2 and 1/2 world internet connection is still functioning.
It’s raining tonight, here at the western edge of Ballard county.. 30% chance of showers, they said… I’d hate to see what we’d have gotten with a 70% chance!
It’s ok… we need the rain…. but with almost none since October, I think this small storm is causing havoc cos nobody remembers how to deal with it, work in it, drive through it….
I made a quick run to the store… and came home to no internet and no phone.
Then I discovered that my cell phone was hardly getting a signal either. Zero bars.
Three hours later…
.I see one little signal bar on it ….and I got to the forum, though I can’t see the strip. I’m using it to write this… hoping it posts.
Susan, who knew a little rain could disrupt so much. My internet is connected by satellite, so when it rains it usually disrupts that service. But my phone and iPad are pretty much unaffected.
its teh anyul migrayshun of the Carpet Carp… !!! No limmits on openin day!!! Smolked Carp at eth TIKI… (ya nose wut tahy say, smoked Carp is as gud as smolked Saamon, if ya aint gots smolked sammon..!!) oh… no cats :())
Last time my youngest son visited we spent two whole days fishing over at Encanto Park. Very nice place to hang out in the inner city. He didn’t catch anything big enough to keep and eat, though the city keeps those lakes stocked. Others were catching, and I spent a nice day in the shade with little Fitzroy and watching all the ducks and swans around there.
Oh! I used to be partial to manhattans but dropped them (too sweet and too many calories). My son considers himself an expert at cleaning and cooking fish. He did that at our last family vacation in Bramson. The condos we rented had grills for our use.
Six’s music was fun (reminds me of South Pacific but I don’t think that was in it).Fresh caught fish are the only kind I like to eat; that’s why I so seldom eat them.
Marvin loves fishing day, Shirley not so much. What Shirley doesn’t know is today is the first day of the first Annual Lightning Round Fishing and Precision Casting Competition. Stan and Todd are on the way over, one as judge and the other as contestant. There has been months of secret preparation and Marvin has loved every minute of it. As rules committee chairperson, it was his oversight which lead to the advent of wrangle angler, speed reeling, basket flip fishing, fly bouncing ( an event exclusively held at Marvin’s house since he is the only competitor with a stair way to the second floor ), snare hook retrieval techniques and the only outside event, black water wading. Joey the nose complained bitterly about the location for snare hook retrieval event, stating his garage was bigger and had windows but Tony said he would quit if he had to go to Joey’s house and most everyone else was uncomfortable about the butt naked incident from last fall. It would not have been so bad, had not Bette called the police everyday for a week, until Joey took down the signs and the flag. Anyway, the events are up and running and today’s first round should be an exciting one.
Goodnight Balladeers! Had an unexpected “work to do”. If you want to know, and also WANT TO READ A REALLY DELIGHTFUL FEEL GOOD comic strip, go to Ten Cats!
Goodnight everyone! Save me a Mojito! I will need one! LOL!
I think most of us know 10 Cats and that they won a Ruben already; I’ve had it on my page since the beginning.
Thanks, Lucky, for the back story, Bev for the link to Billy and all. I just took a dip in the pool and have got to set my hair before a bath. All y’all have a round on me. I’ll make a pot of Bengal Spice to drink in the tub.
Good Evening and good night Ballardeers.I have been cat-sitting and using someone else’s computer. I forgot my password, loli’ll try to get here more often if I can. I’m here only until Saturday at any rate. How’s everything at the Tiki? How are you, sheriff Monkey/

I love it on how old people can creatively amuse themselves. Most don’t most complain. I know, I’m old.
