Enters the chance for Verna to introduce the boys to her friend, “Porkchop”…. Yes, a time for sharing AND getting her ticket punched for an enjoyable evening…. Heheh…
Well, I CAN say that most newspapers had already become something that I needed another reason to buy (in their case a TOY for the puppets) or in my case, lining the birdcage and perches.
I’ll stay away from the oven mitts or what I wear to cook breakfast.
Well, Balladeers, it’s Fishy Friday at the ole Tiki and aside from some great Pescado Ceviche ( Ceviche made with fish cooked in lime juice with garlic, hot peppers and salt, mixed with shallots, tomatoes, peppers, and cilantro. ) I going to make Pescado encocado ( fish with coconut sauce)Pescado encocado is a coastal dish of fish seasoned with citrus and spices and then cooked in a sauce of cilantro, onions, tomatoes, bell peppers and coconut milk. There’ll be plenty for all, so come on over.Drink specials today are Piña Coladas and Mango Daiquiris
Each punch leaves a distinctly-shaped hole so we know which driver punched it. Mine is shaped like the “club” in cards. Or maybe a shamrock. My old punch left a hole shaped something like Idaho.
Thank you, Stel!Actually, those drones must be inside Verna’s head…probably inside all our heads…. (I’ve suspected as much, when I can’t sleep….buzz buzz buzz…… )
I think you are one of the only ones who has tried wearing those magic glasses that let us see through objects on Ballard Street….So you know how dizzy they make you, when you can look at Arthur even when Verna sits in front of him.
Brian… I always wondered why the punches were odd shaped and kept forgetting to ask.
I thought it was for different days or something. And yeah… some make no sense, like broken puzzle pieces or odd paper scraps….which is handy for making little paper scraps, I guess….
Hi Ballardeers! Lots of great Ballareery comments and whimsical posts Good work! That’s why this Street is so interesting. Our residents understand each other.
Yes, Stel, The ceiling is beautiful. The faces all seem the same so that must be the muse who represents music. I can’t remember their names I could only remember the one for dance, but I would guess this is Euterpe who did music played on instruments; Terpsichore was the only one that I remembered.
I did not even know that Cecil the SeaSerpent had a book about him (I painted him into the mural I did for my kids because he was on one of their TV shows).
I DID make hand puppets (paper mache heads with bodies of fabric) and made them a stage so they could put on shows for the family. That was so long ago that I don’t think I have a single photo anywhere (there were many years that we had none, or a Poleroid).

Does Verna mean the boys need to share with HER, with Arthur, or with each other?
Cos not only did they wreck the newspaper, but I can hear them squabbling from way down the street.
With the Sheriff in Texmunkas all weekend, at least, I’d hate to bother BatPug just to have him run in a couple of puppets.
If Verna has her way, though, I bet Arthur would be spending the night in jail as well.

Brian…. funny coincidence!
Maybe Arthur could take his little pals and go give those guys a hand.
Then Verna could read tomorrow’s paper in peace!

You can’t teach sock puppets. No matter how hard you try. Sock Puppets do what they want. Trust me on this.

And wow, yeah… that is a gorgeous place!
pcolli, I adore Gaudi … not that the Pilau de Musica is Gaudi-esque…. but I consider him a pure genius of architecture.
I’ve always wanted to go to Barcelona to see his work.Alas, it’s a bit farther from California. No busses from here…. sigh…

Arthur couldn’t get get Punch and Judy to share either. And they hit Verna. No wonder she is ticked off.
