Calm yourself Bev. I know how the hot … er… weather affects you. Remember your blood pressure and have a nice cool Long Island Ice Tea and some Key Lime Pie.
I think most of you have already touched on my thoughts about those pants. If it were me though, I wouldn’t wear them any time of year – not even April Fools or Halloween. Peoplee would die laughing if they saw me in them. It’s not quite the emotion you’re going for on Halloween.
Susan, in reply to your comment last night about Leaky, I think there is some obvious confusion. I was not implying that Leaky had anything to do with what happened here on BS. After reading one of Dry’s comments, I sort of got sidetracked into making a comment about trolls and how Leaky, in particular, responded to it.
To further elaborate, trolls are like those instigators stirring up trouble in sports. Like on GC, they start the trouble, but rarely get penalized, even if they make a flagrant violation of the rules. The one who responds to the instigator is usually always caught and penalized. The same can be true here on GC, particularly if the responder uses some pretty strong colorful metaphors.
I know I’ve come close to making such replies in the past only to delete the post either before or after posting. Other long-time posters have disappeared after sparring with these trolls. We all need to step back and take a deep breath, Leaky included. I enjoy his comments as much as the rest of you here do. Too bad he’s now confining his posts only to DS. His talents are missed elsewhere.
Bev,I think I am in wrong profession. That was great.Oh those pants.I would wear them. Just not around cats, or small dogs, or parrots, or my mom.His hat however should match his dangly thingies.
Yeah, you know how many margaritas I’ve had is a private issue between me and the bartender. You’d have to be the FBI or the IRS to have access to that kind of information.++++++++++Wrong-o ms B…..!!!!!!Ain’t nose seek ruts round hair…!!!
@ 2Old – NO! I also LOVE mince meat pie with cheddar cheese or French vanilla ice cream! (To drink with that, maybe a Brandy Alexander would go nicely).@X, I think Roland’s pants are perfect for ANY time at the cat rescue center!
Both Susan’s and Stel’s examples are GREAT but . . .Neither one explains HOW to do it (for a dummy like me)!Since I lost Webshots, I put all the photos I’ve used on the comments to a single Flickr page (some sorted to sets because I won’t pay anymore after losing all my albums on Webshots- so no albums).
In order NOT to have some in my Flickr that I will only use once (special searches for a birthday) I try to link directly to the source if they don’t need a change (or if animated I don’t think Flickr can DO those).
I imagine most of those who want to do this are in (more or less) the same situation with photos and searches. I have seldom paid attention when listing “properties” to size etc. (as that meant nothing to my use), but just used that feature to capture the web location.
Oh! And I just have to talk about food (instead of my regular fresh garlic pasta for breakfast) I had a big serving of egg white in the carton that I wanted to use up, so hauled out my big griddle and made Fr. toast (4 whole slices of WW bread that I dredged with ground cinnamon (and left drying on the counter while I was down here earlier) and cooked up 1/2 box of blueberries with a splash of water and a little Truvia baking mix, sliced a ripe peach too and had a good 1/2Cup of plain Greek yogurt. I whisked a pinch of Kosher salt and a big splash of vanilla into my egg whites and when the griddle was hot (475) I cooked the 4 slices (applying a little butter to griddle when I turned them). Had the whole thing down here at the table (2 slices at a time) topping one slice at a time with yogurt, syrup and peach bits – YUMMY!
@Ling, That bakery sounds great to me (and I need to make supper) bur Vets’ Miracle Whip w bananas not at all. @Grog you would love the Thanksgiving rum cake I made (only for the grownups of the family) one year. It was a rumcake topped with a marzipan (almond paste) cornucopia that took lots of time to form all the pieces. I made little eclairs for the kids (and those who don’t like to taste booze in food). Strangely there are always some. I did a search and have no photo of the cake (hopefully I’ll find a hard copy).
I just got home from Home Depot and it’s time to eat!
Dazz, I’ve never had a rhum cake, and for the most part I’m a believer that booze and sweets don’t go together, but some things, like my mom’s mince pies/tarts were awesome. She admitted that she put more brandy into the mix after I turned 18. I have to admit it made something good even better.
I haven’t had one of those in years and I’m not much of a pastry chef. I do make a decent French Canadian meat pie though….another thing I grew up with.
Good night all, I just read my emails – sad to see that Stel is feeling so down and not wanting to do more of her marvelous work on the photos.@Stel, ((((((STEL))))))

Banana cream, cherry, blueberry or key lime?
Apple, coconut cream….boysenberry, chocolate cream, shoo-fly, or mince?
I guess that’s all, cos I didn’t want to make too many kinds.
x_Tech about 11 years ago
Banana Cream sounds good. Haven’t had that since La Val’s back in the 60’s
SusanSunshine Premium Member about 11 years ago
Oh! I forgot one…. I made some more cherry tomato pies … but they’re savory, not sweet.
(Don’t tell the Monkey that… he hasn’t noticed.)
SusanSunshine Premium Member about 11 years ago
Wow, X… banana everything is a specialty at the Tiki.
OH…. but I guess the proprietor eats most of those…
I don’t remember pie at La Val’s.Maybe that’s cos of the beer.
