The Street is pretty deserted today. Is everyone down at the Tiki or someplace and I wasn’t notified? There is only a few of us wandering around. Hello? Bev is here, Grog, Lingee and Chess. oh I see Al over there, I guess everyone else slept in.

I’ve got to get ready to go for my regular weekend.

I packed some Brewmeisters Reserve from Full Sail (figure we’ll enjoy as we both like Sessions Black and their Amber Ale. I just baked my pineapple upside down cake and I have a box of filets for the grille.

Hello all….

It’s been a loooong day, but I’m back on Ballard Street…in fact, back at the Tiki Bar…..

I want to thank everybody who came out to help with the picking….and thanks, Shika, for letting more people know.

Out at the California end of Ballard Street, my tomatoes are still ripening… albeit not as well or in such numbers as most years, due to this year’s strange weather patterns and drought..

Here in central Ballard County, where my commercial fields lie…. the ones that supply most of the tomatoes for my tomato factory…..the days are getting cooler, and a lot of the plants are dying back already…. and the tomatoes have to be harvested green, anyway, before the first freeze.

So yes, in recognition of the way all of you have supported my tomato dreams…especially Bev, who literally gave me the factory, and StelBel, who tirelessly promoted it, and even designed the labels…

Today, September 28th, will be the 2014 Ballard Street Green Tomatoes Day!

For the next 24hours, the purchase of ANY beverage gets you all the fried green tomatoes and biscuits you can eat, plus a free slice of my sweet green tomato pie.

$1.14 extra for 2 thick slices of regular or yak bacon with it…. $1.97 for 4…. $1.23 extra for 2 fried or scrambled eggs.

We’ll also have a special later today on my popular green tomato and chicken enchiladas.

And to think, the factory started not so much over two years ago….and now my tomatoes are on store shelves everywhere in Ballard County…and somewhat beyond.

In fact, Stel… I’ve been looking for the picture I thought you snapped in your local supermarket, but I can’t find it.

You did take one, didn’t you?

And yes, I do try to keep the prices simple.Not like the 99¢ store, where everything is 99.99¢ now.No decimal places for me!

Oh! That’s a newer photo…. and yes… sorry, maybe I didn’t tell you guys.That one is a cooperative venture …you see, space on store shelves is limited, so getting product placement is highly competitive.

RedPack recognises the quality of my tomatoes… and they already have placement in a couple of chains I haven’t been able to break into…

So for now, we’re marketing some jointly labelled product …A premium line, on which they make a percentage, and I still make a small profit…win-win.
