Doubly endangered. Those whales were made of rain-forest plywood.

Not to mention The Ballard Harpoon Store and Pasta Palace is plumb out of Harpoons! And the Whale Festival is just around the corner!

Little does Elvira know, but Greenpeace is sailing up the Ballard river as we speak. they think spearing whales is tacky. Boy are they going to be surprised at the Parade of Wood Whales that kicks off the Festival!

I am trying to explain that we don’t spear live whales, but I keep digging a hole and now it’s up-to-here. Help!

If we mixed them together, could we call it an “Ahab?”

I was looking for a little something for Vi’s birthday next week…but I didn’t know about her hobby..

When she comes in for her manicure Tuesday, I think I’ll give her one of these little nail brushes we just got in…

    Aren’t they clever?

Stel asked yesterday where I found the Yelton’s chihuahua mix…

so I was going to tell her about the wonderful supply catalog I get for my bakery… believe it or not, it’s from a company right here on Ballard Street!

Ballard’s Best Baking and Billiards Supplies… I also get the Bedding, Books and Bananas Supplement this time of year, for gift ideas.

Then 2Old said she found the Chihuahua Mix at the dollar store…

and my goodness, it’s so much more expensive in the catalog… I thought Stel might not want to order it direct.

Anyway, I had it out on the table… so I just noticed something I should maybe tell Neal about for Vi’s birthday…

Way too expensive for me to give her… we’re not that close.

But I wonder whether Neal knows somebody with a forklift…

Hire a pitching coach. Maybe adjust the throw angle on your arm.Go more for accuracy rather than impact so ease back on the velocity. If none of that works.Tommy John surgery could improve your throw.

It’s all about using the proper throwing motion. Have Elvira study some old film of fellow lefty Kenny “Snake” Stabler.

I’m only recently actually enjoying beer (as I always thought they were all the yellow stuff my kids like), but at various events I have recently had a good Pumpkin dark ale, Kilt Lifter and Sex Panther (from local breweries).

My very favorites for regular consumption at home are from Full Sail brewery: Sessions Black and Amber Ale as well as a very rich (like Guinness) Brewmeister’s Reserve once in a while. The best for special occasions, tho’ is 10 Commandments (lovely).

In this chilly weather, it’s nice to sip a little of my old standby, Kahlua and Presidente Brandy.

I love Bev’s garage door with snow. I’m just glad I no longer live in such a climate. If I DID, though, I would do it that way. I can remember putting things on windowsills when I was young.

@DAZZI still use the window sill in winter. But one winter I put a tin of shortbread cookies there and forgot them. The next summer, I discovered rancid cookies in a sealed tin. Ugh!
