Wayne is the dog’s name!

OK, if Wayne is the dog’s name, then:

Not only that, Seymour is wondering why he isn’t able to keep up with Wayne’s evolution?

Becoming more like Seymour does not seem like evolution to me.

A revolution can only succeed by capturing and controlling strategically important infrastructure.

The guy (whatever his name) has been witnessing evolution, while the dog has been witnessing devolution on Ballard Street.

It’s kinda Sparky’s fault, for acting superior, and making his friends jealous….

Evolution is all good and fine, until someone invents The Cubical.

Looks, to me, like Wayne is evolving into a Square Dancer!

It is not so much evolution, as it is emerging tastes. Wayne, once a bow-tied, buttoned down CPA has embraced the freedom of the wild west in his retirement. Donning western duds, cowboy boots, hats, and sporting bolo ties is his expression of his heretofore hidden macho man side.

Sparky, on the other hand, is inclined more to be a Mike Hammer than a Tom Mix. He’d rather read Dashiell Hammett than Zane Grey. He prefers to be an armchair detective, rather than a drugstore cowboy, like Wayne.

Aw, phooey! He’s only looking at the pictures…

Evolution? No dog in their right mind would be caught dead in that atrocity of a hat…

And here we have the ultimate conundrum — is a dog becoming more human a sign of evolution or devolution? And what would Sparky think?

Wayne wonders why his sense of fashion experienced a decline while Sparky’s simultaneously improved.
