When I was a kid, we loved a TV show called “St. Preston of the Yukon.”
It was sponsored by a cereal company… I think Quaker Oats.
One time, for a box-top,.. and maybe a dime or a quarter… can’t remember…they offered the deed to your own plot of land in the Yukon!
I believe it was a whole square inch!
We’d each wanted our own, but I believe my Mom would only buy one box…
so we squabbled over possession of the deed.
Eventually it lay forgotten… I have no idea who ended up with it.
I do remember my little brother once threatening to run away and go live there. LOL
Years later I was reminded of it when I read that for some reason all those deeds had been invalidated..
We was robbed!
And a few years ago, I saw a little wrought iron table at a patio store with a top like a tray, set with a square of sod.
A teeny lawn for a tabletop picnic!
It was expensive… so I always thought I might make one… “some day.” Uh huh.
