…and when that skinny pole falls over….take note of Rocky’s teeth. Sharp teeth. Teeth itching to bite someone.

I’ll bet Rocky can do (read: get away with) some things that Neal can’t. So don’t either of you get too smug.

One thing Neal can’t do is get down gracefully.

The dog’s climbing got off to a Rocky start.

Finally, there have been more failures than one can count. This is indeed a joyous occasion.

Having become frustrated with his inability to lick his “you know what” like his dog, Rocky, Neal finally hit upon the idea of sitting on a chair affixed to the top of a ladder.

Rocky will eventually learn to climb — then Neal will have to be content in the knowledge he alone can master the drinks-straw.

I kept a ladder on the back corner of the house, so I could reach a shadey spot on the roof. My wife was not a climber. I was able to hang out with my two cats without being disturbed. Good times.
