On the other hand, Lucas has nothing to do with it…http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/comicsandcosplay/comics/full-frontal-nerdity/13885-Full-Frontal-Nerdity-How-Disney-Will-Promote-a-New-Indiana-Jones
I LOVED the 1st (released) Starwars movie. The 2nd was great. The 3rd was ruined with the Ewoks. The 4th one was so bad that not only didn’t I make a copy of the VHS tape – but I didn’t even THINK about seeing any ones after that.
That seems to be the way it goes with movies: you love the first, enjoy the 2nd, and the 3rd stinks. I’m talkin’ ’bout YOU Back To The Future! :-)
After the disappointing prequels, I’m much more optimistic about the new movie, especially after seeing the trailers. Like Scott, seeing the Millennium Falcon and the X-Wings flying around in hi-def made me feel like a kid again.
I actually enjoyed “Attack of the Clones”. So, oddly enough, I liked the second movie of each trilogy and was disappointed in the rest. Yes, even the first Star Wars. I did like it, but left the theater sort of “unfulfilled”. The special effects blew me away, of course, but the rest of the movie, not so much…
I’ll be in the minority then, I’ve loved all of the Star Wars movies. Was the acting spot on (No), were there annoying characters (Yes)? But I don’t care. I’m a die-hard fan.
On the other hand, Mad Max Fury Road was awesome. Then again, the Rollerball remake was a failure on many levels… and now they’re messing around with Big Trouble in Little China….
I’m hoping for the best with the new Star Wars franchise.

That the Star Wars franchise was bought out by Disney leads me to think that the new movie will be even worse than the last four.

You’re right TOMOTH, The 3rd movie usually is one too many. Godfather 3 should have slept with the fishes…

The previews make me think of a TV show cast reunion. The Night of a Thousand Stars Wars!
